Tokenomics

A two-coin architecture

Two native coins — Varta (VAR) and Skarb (SKA) — split the jobs money usually forces onto one asset: one secures the network, the other is spent. Every country builds its own monetary system on SKA, independent even from the VAR that secures it.

Varta · Network shares

Secures the network. Minted and distributed to miners and node operators as a reward for validating blocks. It is not intended to serve as national money.

Section 01

Two native coins

The Monetarium blockchain runs two types of coin at once: Varta (VAR) and Skarb (SKA). Both are native, Layer-1 assets of the network — not tokens issued on top of another chain. That is the key feature that sets Monetarium apart from other blockchains.

Section 02

VAR coins

VAR coins are minted when a new block is added to the chain. A block is created through mining (Proof-of-Work) and added once it is verified and approved by the network’s nodes (Proof-of-Stake).

VAR coins function as shares in the Monetarium network. Node operators earn rewards for maintaining nodes and validating blocks in proportion to their VAR holdings, so VAR’s value is set by the market from the transaction-fee yield it generates.

64 VAR are emitted each block from launch. Every 420,480 blocks the emission halves; after the 32nd halving it reaches its smallest fraction (0.00000001 VAR) and stops — its total supply never exceeding 53,690,336 VAR.

Section 03

SKA coins

SKA coins are pre-mined in a quantity sufficient to replace a national fiat currency 1:1. Once the fiat-for-SKA exchange completes, any excess SKA is burned — the inflationary fiat currency ceases to exist, and the role of money is taken over by non-inflationary SKA.

Each country that replaces its fiat gets a dedicated set — SKA1, SKA2, SKA3, and so on — and a SKA[n] coin can be renamed to something familiar: SKA1 → UAH (hryvnia), SKA2 → ARS (peso), SKA3 → EUR, and so on.

Because supply is fixed, a SKA[n] coin's purchasing power rises as its national economy grows — the opposite of inflationary fiat.

Unlike coins from other blockchains, introducing SKA creates no additional inflation in the global economy: it replaces an existing currency rather than adding new money. A country’s SKA can also be held and spent abroad — for trade and international commerce — just like other cryptocurrencies.

A total of 900 trillion SKA1 coins have already been issued and stand ready to replace the fiat of any country. Further SKA coins (SKA2, SKA3, …) are issued by consensus of Monetarium shareholders — the VAR holders — as each country becomes ready to transition to sound money.

Section 04

Incentives for miners and node operators

When a new block is added, its reward is the newly minted VAR plus the transaction fees from every VAR, SKA1, SKA2, SKA3, … transaction in the block. That total is split evenly: half to the miner who found the block, half to the network nodes.

The nodes’ portion is shared among them in proportion to the VAR (network shares) each node holds, following a PoS voting procedure similar to the one used by the Decred blockchain.

The economic incentive is to earn a percentage of the monetary flow across every national economy that adopts Monetarium — much like how VISA earns on payments, but decentralised: anyone can take part by mining, or by buying VAR and running a node on their own computer.

Section 05

Rewards and emission, visualised

The two proportional mechanics behind VAR: how each block reward is split, and how issuance tapers under the halving schedule.

How each block reward is shared

Every block pays the newly minted VAR plus all VAR and SKA fees — split evenly between the miner and the validating nodes.

Issuance halves every ~4 years, so emission is front-loaded and tapers toward zero — with total supply never exceeding 53,690,336 VAR.

Fixed supply

VAR caps at 53,690,336, and each country's SKA supply is locked once the fiat exchange completes — the money cannot inflate.

Native Layer-1 assets

Both VAR and SKA are Layer-1 coins of the Monetarium chain — transactions need no separate "gas" token.

No new global inflation

SKA replaces an existing currency 1:1 rather than adding new money, so its rollout adds nothing to the world money supply.
